Adrian Cummins passed away
suddenly on 20th January, 2005 in Santa Fe, New
Mexico, USA, aged 68. Loving and beloved husband of Benedicte Valentiner of
Santa Fe, beloved father of Katherine and Julia, grandfather of Angus
McGregor, brother of Annette Flower. Beloved son of Ronald and Gwynaeth
(both dec). Loved, respected and admired by so
many others. Taken too soon.
A Memorial Service was held at
the Royal Military Chapel at Duntroon, Canberra on Monday 14th
February 2005.
"It is with sadness and regret that I learned today of the death of
Adrian Cummins.
"His support for the Company and for us, the members of its staff,
will be missed."

Adrian Cummins, AO
Position: CHAIRMAN
Adrian Cummins served 39 years in the RAN with service in most parts of the
world, and was awarded a British Admiralty Commendation for brave conduct whilst
on exchange service with the Royal Navy in 1962. He commanded
the Minesweeper HMAS IBIS during Indonesian confrontation, the frigate HMAS Swan
and the guided missile destroyer HMAS Perth, as Senior Australian Officer in the
Gulf of Oman in 1980/81. He spent 20 years working in
Navy office and Defence Central in Canberra, as Director of Surface and Air
Weapons, Director Naval Manpower Planning (23,000 people), Project Director for
an aircraft and missile range project and as the Director General Defence
Conditions of Service (130,000 people) and Director General Naval Warfare. He
was awarded the AM in 1977 and AO in 1989 for his work.
Adrian Cummins
was the Chairman of Niksar Australia Pty Ltd, and served on the boards of
three
other companies.
